Do I have to be referred by a dentist to schedule an appointment?
No, you do not have to be referred by an office to schedule an appointment.

Do I have to have a consultation appointment?
Yes, Dr. Szkal will examine you to determine the proper course of treatment.

Can the consultation and surgery be performed the same day?
Yes, in cases where the surgery is minor (single tooth extraction) it can be performed the same day.

Do I have to have an x-ray taken?
Yes, current x-rays are required for any dental exam or procedure. Your general dentist can provide you with current x-rays to bring if available. Otherwise, our skilled staff can take films at your appointment.

Do I need to have someone drive me after my procedure or can I drive?
If you are receiving IV Sedation or General Anesthesia, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home and remain with you for several hours following surgery.

What is a dry socket?
Dry socket can occur, in rare cases, 4-5 days after an extraction. Dry socket is not an infection. Dry socket is inflammation of the bone due to breakdown of the protective clot after the extraction of the tooth. The primary symptom of prolonged pain after an extraction. Dry socket is most common in smokers and extractions of the lower back jaw. Contact our office if you think you have dry socket.

I have insurance. Do I have to make a payment the day of surgery?
Our insurance specialist will contact your insurance carrier to see what oral surgery benefits you may have through your medical and/or dental plans. You will be responsible for your estimated portion at the time of treatment.

Do you offer payment plans?
